The American Cancer Society will host a very special event this Saturday, June 14, 2008: The Cattle Baron's Ball Children's Round-up.
The event will take place at Coyote Run Ranch located at 3002 E. FM 41 (off HWY 87). The event will kick off at 11a.m. with events going on until 1p.m.
The goal of the party is to give local children battling and surviving cancer a chance to enjoy a fun event and feel like normal children. The American Cancer Society wants to help these children by providing them a day filled with entertainment and gifts. Families from across West Texas who have undergone cancer treatment at Covenant Health System or UMC Health System will be attending. The event is being underwritten by Betenbough Companies and The Shropshire Agency.
Children and their families will enjoy games, crafts, a hot dog lunch and a special t-shirt. The children will be able to enjoy horse-back riding and hay rides. There will be complimentary pictures available with the Texas Tech University Masked Rider. Local entertainer Junior Vasquez will perform, as will world-renown Trick Roper Brice Chapman.
The highlight of the festivities is the grand prize drawing for a Nintendo Wii, two iPod Shuffles and a mystery prize that will be announced at the Round Up.
