Texas politicians give up pay during shutdown

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Some members of congress say they will give up their pay until the shutdown ends, including Representative Randy Neugebauer.

Neugebauer posted a copy of his request to his Facebook page on Tuesday. He wants his pay be withheld for the duration of the shutdown.

Neugebauer said he's working to get this resolved and protect his constituents in Texas from "Obamacare."

Senator Ted Cruz from Texas has said he will donate his salary to charity for each day the government is shut down.

And a spokeswoman for Senator John Cornyn tells the Washington Post that he will not be paid during the shutdown.
