Pickup rolls over onto train tracks in Slaton

SLATON, TX (KCBD) - DPS representatives say a red pickup driven by Kristian D. Federico of Lubbock rolled and landed on the train tracks next to the highway near the All American Dealership in Slaton around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Train traffic was stopped while they removed the vehicle.
DPS says Federico was northbound on US 84, just north of Slaton, when he lost control and rolled the Dodge into the ditch. The Dodge landed on the railroad tracks, but there was no train was involved and the tracks were inspected by BNSF.
Federico was transported to UMC with moderate injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.
Distracted driving and speed are being investigated as possible causes.
