Five-year-old Tahoka girl donates hair to Locks of Love

Tuesday, a five-year-old girl donated more than 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love.
Her mother tells us, the little girl came up with the idea all on her own.
Cecily Calsoncit started to lose her hair, which left her with several bald spots, when she was two.
Her mom, Rebecca Ysasaga, says they went to several doctor visits to figure out why her hair was falling out.
"We went to the clinic here and they referred us to Texas Tech, UMC," Ysasaga said. "We went to the dermatologist there, twice, and they gave her the steroid and it took her like, almost a year to barely start growing it back."
But, Ysasaga says it was a scary time, because there were more questions than answers.
"They said, it could be genetic or stress or something, but she's two, what can you have about stress," she says.
Cecily was so excited to show off her new toys… as the Frozen lover celebrated her fifth birthday yesterday.
And her wish? To donate her hair to someone who needed it more.
"I wouldn't think that she would really know what she was talking about, you know what I mean, because she's young," Ysasaga said. "But, I asked her and she was like, yea, I just want to go cut my hair and give it to somebody that really needs it."
After asking Cecily every day for a week, Ysasaga made an appointment at Designers Group Salon for Tuesday morning.
Upon arriving at the salon, Cecily climbs into the chair and has a little pink cover placed over her.
"So, you're going to donate your hair? Yea," the hairdresser at Designers Group Salon asked.
With just a few snips, more than 10 inches of her dark braided hair was detached from her head.
Cecily says she is loving her new look.
"For her to think about something like that, that most of us don't really think about, it's really cool. But, she's always been like that," Ysasaga said.
