LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

From The Coronado Project

Frank Morrison, President of The Coronado Project said, "as a result of the news coverage of our situation, several generous supporters have come forward with donations to assist in getting water service reestablished to our apartments."

The city reestablished water service shortly after noon Saturday.

Frank continued, "Our work is to change people's lives, not make a profit. Our profit shows up in the self-sufficiency of the people we help. Many of our residents have lived in poverty their entire lives and have experienced homelessness on more than one occasion. Helping them climb out of their economic rut requires support over an extended period of time."

"We are doing something no one else has done," Frank said. "Having a home and a strong support network are common components of a middle-class life. Having a stable home and friends or family to help is not common for people suffering in poverty. The Coronado Project provides the support structure to help get people back on their feet and move toward a self-sustaining life."

"We, as The Coronado Project, are so appreciative of the support and encouragement we continue to receive from our friends and neighbors. We look forward to continuing to be part of the support mechanism our neighbors need." Frank concluded.
