Woman indicted in connection with death of resident at Lubbock State Supported Living Center
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A woman has been indicted in connection with an assault that led to the death of a resident at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center.
Natalie Betancurt is charged with intended violence while employed at a nursing home. She was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond, but has since bonded out.
In early June, officers responded to the center where they were told 53-year-old Paul Reed had been taken to Covenant Medical Center with critical injuries. Reed died from his injuries at the hospital on June 5.

That same day, former employee 36-year-old Derrick Bell was arrested in connection with Reed’s assault.
Bell is charged with injury to a disabled person. Bell remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
