Lubbock seniors hold fishing derby at Maxey Park

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock senior citizens went to Maxey Park on Friday to celebrate National Nursing Home Week with a fishing derby.
Prizes were given to the residents who caught the biggest fish and the smallest fish.
Jay Lytle with Lubbock Hospitality Nursing and Rehabilitation said, "It's a time where we can give someone a chance to do something they are not accustomed to every day."
For some seniors this was their first time to go fishing.
It looks like everyone there had a good time and one woman at the event caught her very first fish.
