Sprinkler system freezes, bursts at Plainview Country Club
PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - A flood at Plainview's Municipal Country Club and Civic Center may have been caused my missing roof trim. City Manager Jeffery Snyder tells the Plainview Daily Herald that roofers installing a new metal roof on the country club didn't install flashing on the west side of the building before the storm hit.
Without coverage, the attic was exposed to freezing temperatures. The springer system in the country club froze and burst.
Snyder say the entire facility was covered in two to four inches of water when it was discovered Monday morning.
He tells the Herald that crews are working to dry the facility so they can access the actual damage. The city is finding the roofing company at fault and is working on an agreement to fix the damages.
