Pay It Forward: Alamo Barbershop in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - WesTex Federal Credit Union stopped by alamo barber salon after the owner was nominated for this week’s pay it forward. Heather Gentry nominated her family barber, Pete Brewer who is the owner of Alamo Barbershop, for this week’s nomination.

“He’s been really, really great to our family,” said Gentry. “He does such a great job with our kid’s hair and with my son, he’s special needs. And he has such a great guy with our kids and he has had such a rough year this year, like everybody else.”

The COVID-19 pandemic impacting Brewer’s business.

“You know people right now are scared of coming in, but we got real good people,” said Brewer.

Brewer has been a barber since he was 16 and has been serving Lubbock residents for several decades.

Love: “How many years have you been in business here? Because you’re like the third generation?”

Brewer: “38 years ago. So, we’ve been blessed. You know, we got some great customers.”

Love: “We’re so honored to help Heather Pay it Forward to your business. So, we have a very nice monetary donation for you.”

Brewer: “Thank you so much.”
